Business Opportunity
Independent Business Operator (IBO)
with the
DRIVER TRAINING ACADEMY Team
There are a number of examples of opportunities around Victoria:
- Learn to Drive: You will have noted that DTA has a unique (and very popular) Learn to Drive program which receives Community financial support in a number of regions. The problem is there aren't enough appropriately trained instructors to take advantage of these opportunities in many of the regions. Are you an appropriate person who would like to be trained to run these programs?
- Drink Drive program: Many country towns and citys are poorly served by appropriate drink drive programs. DTA has an excellent program which turns over a substantial business, but the limiting factor is sufficient education presenters and Alcohol User Assessment counselors to cover various regions. This would be an excellent opportunity for a couple where the skills and qualifications are shared between them.
- Truck and Bus licence: There are opportunities for excelent experienced truck and bus drivers.
Others opportunities range from warehousing and forklift-truck to counseling.
DTA—IBO Money Agreement
Is the most attractive in the Driving Instruction Industry!
The Formula:
DTA fee is 20% of the IBO takings up to $320 per week.
Four very attractive points:
1. The 20% fee is the lowest in the industry.
2. DTA is the only Organisation which sets a limit on what you pay in any one week.
3. If you have a quiet week then 20% of nothing is nothing; for every $5 you take, DTA fee is $1, up to $320. If you have a big week, you keep all the extra. (The most you pay is $320 in any week!)
4. The ‘ceiling’ fee will not rise by more than CPI.
Examples:
An instructor working in a car charging $55 per hour will reach the maximum fee in 29 hours ($1600). Takings above $1600 will attract a DTA-Fee of $320 maximum.
An instructor working in a truck charging $100 per hour will reach the maximum fee in 16 hours ($1600). Takings above $1600 will attract a DTA-Fee of $320 maximum.
An instructor working in a classroom charging an amount per participant will pay 20% of the total takings up to $320 per week the course is running. Takings above $1600 will attract a DTA-Fee of $320 maximum per week the course is running.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES of an INDEPENDENT BUSINESS OPERATOR in the DRIVER TRAINING ACADEMY team.
Approach to training:
“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care... When they find out that you really care, you had better know something.” Trev Sobey
Never stop learning. Continuously read books about your personal development, communication processes and research into your industry. Continuously practice your craft.
“The day I stop learning is the day I give up the right to teach”.
The most freeing fact for any ‘instructor’ to grasp is that:
“you can’t ‘teach’ anybody anything”. All an instructor can do is provide each participant with a great learning environment which enables her/him to learn what is relevant to themselves according to their own learning style and personality type.
"A great instructor cannot do more and dares not do less".
As an instructor when you create a sound learning environment you will have happy participants. Your ability to create a great learning environment will turn happy participants into raving fans.
Instructors who have raving fans as participants don’t have to spend much on advertising.
Focus of training:All driver training is focused on habits which will keep the driving safe and enable the driver to respond appropriately in any emergency.
“What people do is more important than what they know”
While what people do is often based on what they know; knowing something doesn’t mean that they do it that way. Habits are the basis of behaviour.
"Habits overcome both knowledge and reason".
Business management: “No margin—No mission!”
Running a business means:
- Marketing is an ongoing process, always at the forefront of every activity and conversation.
- Satisfying every customer by giving them more than was promised, to a better standard than was expected.
Managing money is three legged principle:
- Profit,
- Turnover &
- Cash-flow.
Are YOU the right person for the business?
