Unique Learn to Drive Programs
"Class-Driving" expertly and safely -
Much more than merely how to pass a test.
Become a “CLASS-DRIVER”, that means a person who's habit is to drive well.
The best way to learn is in a fun-group where you rotate roles between "DRIVER", "COACH" and "ASSESSOR".
While you are acting as "DRIVER" you are guided through each exercise by the instructor then the "COACH". Their help diminishes as your practice improves until you are doing that task unaided. When you are ready the "ASSESSOR" scores your sheet.
You then become the next "COACH" and this is where you really learn thoroughly, because you guide and help the next "DRIVER" through the same exercise until he / she has completed their practice.
Finally you become the next "ASSESSOR" where you identify correct and incorrect actions of the "DRIVER" and mark the scoresheet.
This learning style is incredibly effective as well as fun!
YOU WILL NEVER STOP LEARNING!!!
you will have fun with a great learning experience, developing special friendships along with many new skills.New stuff every exercise means you will appreciate how mastering a lot of different parts makes you a “CLASS-DRIVER”.
You never passively observe. You drive, talk or help a friend through an exercise, score an assessment sheet or provide feedback. You will be so eagerly involved that the week will be over too quickly.
Interaction with a friendly, easygoing group really helps develop a great ATTITUDE to driving. Bit by bit you will gain great skills in OBSERVATION and JUDGEMENT in all sorts of situations.

At the successful completion of the seventeen assessments the student will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment at Certificate l in Road Transport. The Focus:
The focus of the “Class-Driving” Learn to Drive is: what is in the best interest of the participant and how can the communication of that information be improved. The Licence Test conducted by VicRoads is never part of any conversation or the reason for learning anything on the course. The relevancy of every piece of information is: Legality, safety, vehicle sympathy and vehicle smoothness, which is the driver’s emotional reward for driving well.
The Learning Environment:
Approximately two/thirds of the program is conducted on-road in real streets and roads in a wide range of environments and situations including traffic, highway and gravel roads. Approximately one/third of the program is conducted off-road to develop vehicle reversing and manoeuvring skills, steering and braking techniques.
The Exercises:
There are a total of eighteen structured exercises set out in a Participant Booklet of which sixteen are normally completed during the five-day program. These exercises form a dual development path of 'COGNITIVE' and 'SPATIAL' learning. The ‘left’ path develops ‘cognitive’ skills of “what I need to understand” while the ‘right’ path develops ‘spatial’ skills of “where and how the vehicle fits”. This latter skill set is seen by the author of “Class-Driving” as the largely neglected area in practical driver training generally. The delivery of each exercise focuses on the development of knowledge, skill and attitude.
The Attitude Development:
At the outset of the program delivery participants and instructor sign an agreement on boundaries of behaviour for the duration of the course. This agreement is revisited at the completion of each exercise and participants score themselves on a five-point scale during group discussion. While this process is conducted in an environment of humour it is seen as an important ‘tool’ in developing skills in self-regulating and modifying behaviour.
The Qualification and Recognition:
At the successful completion of the program participants are issued with a Nationally Recognised “Statement of Attainment” – “Apply safe driving behaviours” TLIC3607A
